Florida Epilepsy Services Background
A group of concerned parents founded Epilepsy Services of West Central Florida in 1973, now doing business as Florida Epilepsy Services. It has grown from an organization that hosted support groups in one of the founder’s homes to providing critical services to persons and their families with epilepsy.
Florida Epilepsy Services is sponsored by the Department of Health and United Way of Central Florida, servicing the estimated 360,000 Floridians who are afflicted with this devastating disorder. Services include targeted case management; prevention education to groups, employers, and organizations; employment services; counseling; access to quality neurological medical treatment; and support groups.
